Community Showcase & Dialogue Night #3: Let Your Voice Be Heard!

We invite you to join us for Community Dialogue Night #3. This gathering is about continuing the meaningful exchange of ideas and reflections for the preliminary design of the memorial.

On September 24th, we hosted our Community Showcase & Dialogue Night, where we shared the early design model of the 1975 Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial with our community. The event was filled with meaningful conversations, as we welcomed valuable feedback and words of encouragement from our attendees—many of whom were seniors and long-standing members of the Vietnamese community.

Their insights continue to shape the memorial, ensuring it reflects the rich history, resilience, and strength of our shared journey. We are deeply grateful for their participation and look forward to building this tribute together.

The 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Commemoration Initiative is excited to invite you to our Design Showcase Event on Saturday, September 14th from 12PM-3PM at VietAID Community Center.

This event will showcase the community-informed and community-driven art design of the memorial, created by our lead artist, Ngoc-Tran Vu. This will be followed by a community discussion and feedback session. This event will provide an opportunity for the community to engage with the design process, offer feedback, and contribute to the vision of a memorial that reflects the unique heritage and experiences of the Vietnamese Diasporic community.

We will also be sharing 3-D models of memorials that you all have helped inform in the artmaking process. The “1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Healing Memorial”

is an ambitious project set to become a public art installation in the Boston Little Saigon Cultural District in 2025 with a long-term vision for a permanent memorial. Envisioned as a testament to healing, this installation seeks to provide a space where memories, narratives, and lived experiences from the Vietnamese diaspora are both honored and shared.
